In global real life stock market universe, green color is the one which indicates profit or growth. Not the other way around.
Because you play as a merchant not as a consumer.
You can see it in any stock market such as hang seng, nikkei, wall street, etc.

Merchantry is my favourite mini game/life skill because I can play traditional stock market.

You can look to the screenshot, the one I circle green is the indicator which supposed to have green color.
And the one I circle red is the indicator which supposed to have red color representing loss.

It gave me mini heart attack when I see red indicators and I have to triple check it wether I make profit or loss.
