I'll make it short. I'm doing this on my mobile phone.
This is for new, returning, and current players.

1. Choose your character based on your preferred style or something aesthetically pleasing for you.

2. Play the story (but don't read through it yet, just skip. There is the best time for reading. I'll let you know on this guide). Hit a wall (CP too low to progress or not enough stamina to continue).

3. Create a new character (preferably opposite damage type). As you progress, you'll unlock instances that require more than one hero. All individual CP contributes to Family CP.

4. Loop steps 1-3 until you have 6.

5. Create your 7th character. This will be your reading time character. Develop this one at your own pace. Black Desert has lots of beautiful things to tell. The writing and translation are amazing.

6. Developing characters 1-6:

6.1 Now that you have a good grasp of the characters skills, you're at a point to switch who will be your progressive/main character. Stick or change- it's up to you.

6.2 I'll refer to the progressive/MC as unit 1. Unit 1 should receive best equipment. Enhance and awaken (if available already) unit 1's equipment. Pass on old equipment to unit 2 whenever unit 1 gets a better one. Do not transfer enhancement yet or you will lose the chance for the receiving unit to get the equipment because transferring destroys the old equipment. Keep inheriting up to 6th or 7th character.

6.3 All skill books go to unit 1 until max.

6.4 Totems. Have all characters equip a level 0 totem. Once done, collect the same number of totems as your characters. Assign a unit who will hold all duplicate totems and crystalized form (totem enhancing item). From now on, everytime you pick up a totem chest, select the crystalized form. The totem holder should have both duplicate totems and crystalized totem. Upgrade each duplicate to +1, have all units equip totem +1, old totems must be transferred to totem holder. If you have collected enough resources, upgrade old totems higher than equipped totems. Repeat until satisfied. I don't know the max myself. I only have +5 equipped on active family members.

7. DO NOT NEGLECT YOUR CAMP!

8. Check all missions before heading out for battle. Some missions require the same action, ex. kill mobs. This will save you time.

9. Don't rush awaken enhancement/enchantment/awaken enchantment. Preferrably get hundreds of thousands more resources.

10. Auto-battle in areas where you need to collect knowldge.

11. Be civil to everyone. Let's keep BDM community healthy.
