i seem to be stuck, im doing The Disappearance of Peruja's Grandchild desert side story but have reached the Protector of the Book/Listen to Shumaram's request point but ive talked to the NPC and he just keeps repeating: You want to know what im carving etc... i must be missing something because theres no other thread about this problem/bug. Clicking on the NPC gets me no where. What am i missing ?? any help much appreciated.

When you are next to that Npc's it have 2 quests for completing one of them is this shumaram request. As far i remember it was for killing 20 Desert fogans.

OK, thanks, i'll see if killing the 20 Fogans does the job.
