I am going to play the Black Desert, but I am still not sure of the server choice.

What I have known so far is as follow.

 

1. Korea server

[pros]

    1] Gives lots of valuable items through various events.

    2] About 2 times more character options.

    3] Possible to buy some cash items using free pearl.

[cons]

    1] Has been opened more than 1year, making difficult to follow other people's progress.

    2] Time difference (12 hours compared to America)

 

2. Global server

[pros]

    1] Recently opened.

    2] Relatively easy to be a ranker.

    3] Different node system.

[cons]

    1] Lack of events and character options.

    2] For me, it might be difficult to communicate with others. (Just so you know, I am Korean.)

 

Since I have not played the Black Desert for long time, my knowledge might be wrong and maybe there are others which I do not know.

Please tell me your opinion, and suggest the best server for me.

 

If you want to feel genuinely rewarded and respected whether you pay or not then play the Korean version. If you want to be able to catch up to the cp of active global players then it'll still take you a lot of time and effort because of the tiny drop rates on gear and even black stones so I doubt global is any better on that aspect. The only thing it's better at is dropping new content which requires your wallet frequently. It's sad but that's the current state of the game, hopefully devs will reconsider their business approach someday because they're focusing on a tiny portion of their playerbase at most (top spenders). So korean bdm is the safest choice but you can also play the global version instead at your own risk, maybe you'll be very lucky and enjoy the game just fine.
