I prefer valkeries attacks more than paladins. Is there a way to just stay valkerie and lvl. Not digging the new attacks for paladin.

There is no way to go back, and even if there was one you would be putting you're character in big disadventage as Paladin skills do twice the damage as valk skills. Either learn how to play you're new character, I had to learn and in fact I am still learning my huntress as new skills are quicker, combat is faster, and quite different from what it was before succession. All of your gear is transferable. The only way back is to make a new character and not take that quest.
